Is the Legal Notice (Mentions Légales) mandatory?
Yes for any French website. The LCEN law (Confidence in the Digital Economy) requires that legal notice information be accessible from every page. Non-compliance is punishable by up to one year in prison and a €75,000 fine.
What must a Legal Notice contain?
For a professional: company name, legal form, capital, registration number, SIRET, address, publishing director, contact, hosting provider (name, address, country). For an individual: full name, address, contact, hosting provider. The generator produces the complete page.
What if I don't know my hosting provider's address?
